A building project that has won several awards deserves just as much of a finish. Over the years, it has been our ambition to carry out professional and aesthetically appealing work for the construction of the Rising Star School in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. The finale is our exhibition WEAVING BRICKS at StadtPalais – Museum für Stuttgart. It represents our engagement and presents an overall project that inspires in many ways.
An installation showing the progress of the project is combined with atmospheric film material woven into the installation. In our project work, one motif emerges again and again: linking, connecting, interweaving. In our work, however, not only hundreds of thousands of bricks are interwoven with each other or a steel lug with the brickwork, but also friendships, cultures, two continents, joys and worries. These connections, which go beyond pure planning and building and have become a central element in our daily project work, also form the core of our exhibition concept.
In addition to the installation and the film contribution, a magazine will provide further detailed insights into our work. This will serve as a guide to the exhibition, but can also be taken away by the visitors. In this way, our thoroughly personal and emotional expe- riences and stories will also find a place to immerse themselves in at home.
